Show SPRINGVILLE CHAMPS WIN FROM NEPHI .Springville high school nnmistak-ingly nnmistak-ingly demonstrated its superiority in the basketball game Friday evening even-ing when the fast Nephi quintet was taken into camp by the score of 3G to lo. It was evident from the first whistle that Springville was going to have everything her own way in the game. The former state cham- pions took the lead early in the game and were never in danger of losing the contest. Three times as many field goals were made by the Springville boys than by the Nephi stars. Wortning-ton, Wortning-ton, the elongated center from Juab and one the best athletes in the division, was held down- to one basket by Burt, who also connected for seven field goals, being the high point man of the game. Burt lacked one point in making as much as the entire Is'ephi team. Clark at left forward for the champions played a wonderful floor game and also succeeded Jd fi-ding tne noop for five goals. Cranmer, who was watched closely, close-ly, rung up five and Thorn at guard succeeded in slamming in two. In the first quarter Xephi had to be satisfied with three foul pitches, while the Springville boys rang the bell six times from the floor. In the third quarter, Nephi did less, petting only one foul pitch, at the same time holding Springville to four field goals. The winners presented a much more polished appearance than in any other game thus far this season. sea-son. This is undoubtedly due to the exceptional training they have been put to by Coach Smith during the j past two weeks. The Springville team, as a result of the victory over I Nephi will represent the Kebo division divi-sion in the state high school tournament. tourna-ment. If they continue to improve j as they have done during the past two weeks they will stand a fairly good show for the state championship, champion-ship, although it is realized that the L. D. S. quint is one of the fastest that has been in the state meet for years. SPRINGVILLE. G. T. F. P.
