Show CAR FOREMAN AT THISTLE DROPS DEAD F. L. Cherry Stricken With Paralysis AVhile Walking on Track; Dies Instantly. Stricken with a paralytic stroke while walking across the railroad tracks at Thistle, F. L. Cherry, car foreman at the Denver & Itio Grande Western roundhouse at that place, died instantly Monday about noon. The sheriff's office was notified, when the body of Mr. Cherry was found lying along the railroad tracks and Deputy Sheriff Karl Boshard and Dr. L. C. Potter, county physician, immediately rushed to the scene to investigate. Following the investigation Dr. Potter declared that death was due to paralysis. According to the story told by friends who were with Mr. Cherry at the time of his death, he seemed to be in perfect health. ''We were walking along the track talking about different things," was the story told Deputy Boshard by some of the workmen who were with Cherry at the time of the stroke. "All of a sudden he stopped abruptly, gasped for breath, and fell to the ground." Mr. Cherry had been foreman at the Thistle roundhouse for about two years. He had been living in Utah for seven years, at which time he came from South Carolina, j where he was born in 1ST0. Hisi family lived in Salt Lake City. j The body was taken to Sale Lake! City Monday morning. It may be taken to South Carolina for burial. |
