Show Mapleton P.-T.-A. Have Successful Basket Social With more than 50 parents and teachers present the basket social given by the P.-T. A. of Mapleton in the ward hall Friday night was a decided success, according to a report. Glenn Holley as auctioneer proved very efficient and the membership mem-bership fund for which the affair was given was easily raised. Supervisor Su-pervisor J. W. Bates of the Nebo school division and wife were special spe-cial guests' at the entertainment. Mrs. Bates spoke briefly of the work accomplished by the P.-T. A. organizations. A fine program, followed by progressive pro-gressive and relay games was the outstanding features of the ev, ning. Harvey Mendenhall supervised super-vised the games, and Rulon Nelson of the program committee announced an-nounced numbers which were given as follows: vocal solo, Miss Agnes Hales, Spanish Fork; piano solo, Miss Helen Hales, Spanish Fork; piano solo, Mrs. Harvey Whitney; instrumental duet. Frank Metlved and Wayne Holley; community singing, led by Miss Myrtle Childs; harmonica solo, Jerry Davis. The officers of the P.-T. A. of Mapleton deeply appreciate the cooperation co-operation of the parents and teachers teach-ers in making this, the first social of tne year, a successful entertainment. |
