Utah county municipalities who have been wapinp active campaigns to secure the location loca-tion of the proposed state school for the feeble minded to their respective cities, have buried their differences and have agreed to pool their forres in I ho imprest of I 'tah county. The mallei- of the exact location of the school will be left to the stale building commission, according accord-ing to the altitude taken by a delegation dele-gation of men from most of the cities in the county that met Wednesday Wed-nesday morning at the cily and county building. The purpose ol Ihe meeting was to stress th necessity of cooperation on thd part of all of the municipalities In the county in older that the commission com-mission might consider Utah coun-:y coun-:y as the proper place to select the ;;ite for the home. Committee Meets The Utah Training School committee, com-mittee, with Dr. L. D. Stewart, as chairman wore present at the-meeting. The following is a list of the committee: T. F. Tolhurst, Pnyson; J. Hoy Greenwood, American Fork. George Anderson, Springville; Dr. G. S. r.ichards, American Fork; L. C. Henriod, Provo; S. M. Taylor, Lehi; J. K. Bradshaw, Lehi; hi. W. Lane, Lehi; A. E. Money, Spanish Fork; R. H. Andrews, Spanish Fork; YV. A. Curnabv, Spanish Fork; Dr. A. C. Curtis, Payson; Philo Wightman, Payson; Dave Shulor: Payson; J. L. Aird, Provo; and John O. IJeesley, Piovo. A delegation from every town and city in the cc.mty c.islstlng of three men and a woman were appointed. The Provo delegation consists of 10 men a id lines women, wo-men, those conipi isin;. the delegation delega-tion are: T. N. Tayloi , J. William Knight, Franklin S. Han is, Mayor Alma Van Wagenen, Mayor-elect Jesse N. Ellertson, L. W. Nlms, L. C. Henriod, John O. Beesley,' J, Edwin Stein, Dr. John Aird, 'Mrs! R. E. Allen, Mrs. Monroe Paxinan, and Mrs. Walter Hasler. The delegation will call on tho state commission just as soon as possible. SPANISH FORK With a view to getting the state school for the feeble minded located in Ulah county, a group of Payson citizens representing the civic organizations organiza-tions there, met Monday at noon with a group of representative citizens citi-zens of Spanish Fork and held n meeting nt.the Nfbo school district office with Dr. L. D. Stewart, mayor of Pnyson acting chairman. The Payson citizens at the meeting were Dr. Stewart, Dr. Asa L. Curlls, chairman of the Strawberry Water Users association; Thomas F. Tolhurst, Tol-hurst, of the Nebo school district board; Phiio c. Wightman, president presi-dent of the Lion's club and Melvin Wilson, superintendent of the Nebo school district. The Spanish Folk, representatives were R. H. Andrus, Ed Money and Elisha Warner representing the Rotary club; William Wil-liam A. Cornaby, Kiwanis club; F. J. Thomas, American Legions. Mr. Cornaby was secretary of the ineet- inR. A comnilltee was appointed lo visit other . Utah county towns ami uiko them to cooperate with those committees lo woi:; with the state site finding commission in favor of ' a site in Utah conn'. It is felt that Utah county is entitled to have a s!ate building at this time. Il Is also planned that the committees get together and hold a meeting with the state finding commission in tho immediate future. The committee com-mittee included: Dr. I,. D. Slewart of Payson, T. H. Tolhurst, and Milo I). Wightman of Payson; K. H. Andrus and William A. Cornaby of Spanish Fork. As Ihe committee was leaving Spanish Fork to go to the northern end of Utah county and enlist those cities in the movement, a large delegation from American Fork and other towns in the north end of the county came to Spanish Fork to meet with the local people and try for a united movement. The whole county seems to be organized or-ganized anil making a determined effort to. secure some recognition for Utah county. |
