Show FIFTEEN-YEAR-OLD GIRL VICTIM OF AUTO SMASH Ruby Rigby Seriously Injured In-jured in Accident Near Grandview. Ruby Rigby, ape 15, of Fairview, was struck by a Ford bug late Monday Mon-day evening on the state highway, near the new Grandview church. Her skull was fractured and she was seriously cut and bruised, both of Salem were in the bug. Hanks was driving at a speed of about 20 miles an hour, according to Traffic Officer George A. Davis, who investigated the accident. The Rigby girl and six others, who had been picking strawberries, had walked along the state highway going to their homes in Fairview. At about 10:50 a truck driven by Frank Birmingham, going northward north-ward stopped and the girls were offered of-fered a ride. The truck, according to witnesses halted near the center of the road. Hanks and Sabin, in the bug, coming com-ing south, drove to one side of the truck. At that moment the five girls appeared on the same side of the truck. Four of the girls were grouped directly ahead of the bug's course. Hanks turned the bug in the other direction just as the Rigby Rig-by girl cnme from the rear of the truck. She was hit and knocked to the pavement. Her skull was broken and she - was unconscious when picked up and brought to (he Aird hospital by Edward Partridge.
