Program IncL f Visit of State and National Nation-al Officials On Final Day Of County Fair ' . i The committees in charge of the annual Utah county fair and Sesqui-centennial Escalante celebration are working diligently in arranging the best county festival ever staged in Utah county. During the past few days several committees have met and outlined the various features to be the main attractions at the celebration. The three-day celebration will be filled with interesting attractions in addition to the varous exhibits of the county products which will be on display. The main features of the celebration will be the daily horse races on the improved track at the old race course and the Escalante historical pageant to be given the last two days of the festival. The program committee has arranged ar-ranged a most pretentious entertainment. entertain-ment. According lb the outline of tbat committee the fair will lie officially offi-cially opened Wednesday, September Krom 11 a. m. until 1 p. m. of tbat day the various exhibits will be examined by the respective judges. A band conccrl will be given from 1 to 2 o'clock. Kacing will occupy Hie time from 12 o'clo.-k until -1. A demonstration of-the work ai-eom-plished in Utah county by ihe different dif-ferent -4-11 clubs will lie given in the women's section during the same time. A children's parade and a Primary Prim-ary circus will be staged under the direction of the Utah stake Primary association from o until (i o'clock. A musical festival will be given from 7 until 0 p. in. The first official fair d-inco will be given at the Ulalina Gardens in the evening in which Indian and pioneer costumes will bp featured. Prizes will be given for I be best costumes. A big feature will be the presence of a large baud of Indians from the Uintah reservation. During the enlire afternoon there will also be airplane acrobatics and carnival circus for the entertainment enter-tainment of tiie fair visitors. The second day. Thursday, September Sep-tember 23. has been designated the Sesqui-cenfeunal Escalante day, in honor of the arrival in Utah valley of Escalante and his band of explorers ex-plorers 1.10 years ago. The prize winners in the livestock ishow will he seen in a parade on the race track at 10 o'clock in the morning. Band concert and the horse racing rac-ing will again he the features of the afternoon. The mammoth historical pageant of the Escalante celebration will he presented under the direction of Prof. E. II. Eastmond at 8 o'clock in the evening. This will be one of the most stupedous undertakings: ever accomplished In Utah county. Every town and community of the county will participate In the pageant. pag-eant. The dance to he given In the evening eve-ning at the Utahna Gardens has been designated the Spanish Carnival Carni-val dance, featuring Spanish costumes, cos-tumes, confetti and Spanish music. Prizes will be given for the best costumes . The final day. Friday, September 24, is called Utah day. Slate and national officials will be present at the fair and will participate In the program beginning at 1 o'clock. The main feature of the day will be the grand historial pageant parade to be given on the principal business street3 of Provo. In the evening beginning begin-ning nt 8 o'clock will be the final presentation of the Escnlante ing-eant ing-eant iu which all if the prizee winners win-ners of the fair will also be pre-sen pre-sen ted. |
