Silk and clothing valued at ap- 1 proximately $700 was stolen from the G. S. Wood Mercantile company i of Springville, somet ime during i Wednesday night. No trace of the ; burglars had been found at a late hour Thursday afternoon, although not ice had ben sent to the police officers throughout the state by Sheriff J. D. Boyd. Two shelves of silk stockings had been completely cleaned out by the burglars. Several bolts of silk, ti I hirue number of silk handkerchiefs and several leather coats and vesta were part of the loot carried awa. Entrance to the store had been j ! gained by destroying the back door. r J Once inside, the burglars had opened j the window on the north side of the store and torn away the screen. Iledilen, who lives nexi door north of t he store, told Hu police that, when she came homo from her work at the Hodden and Packard Confcct ionory store about 1 o'clock Wednesday night she saw-two saw-two tall strangers walking south at the city park.
