Show SPRINSVILDT GIVES PROGRAM The program for the Indian War Veterans encampment Thursday evening at Spanish Fork was given at the open air platform by the Springville post. Commander Hughes opened the meeting and after some spirited community singing sing-ing led by Clive Bradford. Captain Alma Fullmer of the Springville post took charge. A band concert preceded the program pro-gram and was greatly enjoyed by the large audience. It was given by the Springville band, with J. F. Faux director. The program: accordian solo, Frank Medvill; talk. "Honor, the War Veterans and Pioneers," Elmer Bird; readings, Miss Lillian Binks; banjo stunt, solo and step dance. Jim Curtis; instrumental instru-mental duets. "The Songs My Mother Moth-er Used to Sing," Ralph Waite and Will Parry; talk, J. F. Mendenhall; talk, Alma Fullmer. The speakers reviewed the work of the organization organi-zation of the Sons and Daughters and commended the way it has untprans since its Or- ganization and hoped other towns would organize to carry on the good work. During intermission Clive Bradford Brad-ford sang a solo. The meeting was then turned over to the Moroni post, which put on, a clever stunt in the form of an old-fashioned harmonica band. All performers were attired in old-fashioned old-fashioned and grotesque costumes. ' The music was much appreciated, j several old-time solos were sung by Mrs. Clara Larsen, who directed the band and was accompanied by members of the band; J. R. Black-ham, Black-ham, comedian, gave several readings read-ings and a step dance; Mozart Larsen gave some clever yodelin,; Mrs. J. R. Blackham and Mrs. J. B. 1 Baily gave a step dance; Erastus I Larsen was the organist, performing perform-ing on a baby organ; a quartet comprising com-prising J. R. Blackham, Erastus Larsen, Ferron Syme and Mr. J. Fechser, sang several selections. At the close of the meeting the crowd returned to the city pavilion, where dancing was enjoyed until the early hours of morning. |
