Show j SOCIETY o. The ladies of the: American Legion Le-gion Auxiliary of Sprinvi'lc will hold their next meeting Wednesday evening, September 5. at the home of M:-s. Leo ftobertson, 411 East Fourth North street. All present and eligible members are asked to be present. Misses Florence. Margery and Patricia Pa-tricia Dougall. Sam Paul. Jr., Dr. and Mrs. Paul, and Mrs. G. M. P. Dougall, all of Salt Lake, were guests during the week end at the home of Mr. and Mrs. G. S. Wood, and Mr. and Mrs. J. K. Gardner. Mrs. William H. Brown entertained entertain-ed the members of the Social Twelve card club at her home Thursday evening. Auction bridge was the feature of entertainment, with Mrs. Amanda Einks winner of high score prize. At 31:30 luncheon was served by the hostess to the following members: Airs. G. D. Kennedy, Mrs. Lee Sumsion, Mrs. Lois Clegs, Mrs. Harry Pennington, Mrs. Floyd Harmer, Mrs. Amasia Rowland, Mrs. Bert Rowland, Mrs. Marcellus Neilson, Mrs. Morris Binks, Mrs. Hugh Baxter, Mrs. Arthur Ar-thur Finley and invited guests: Mrs. Glen Sumsion, Mrs. J. F. Win-gate, Win-gate, Mrs. Lloyd Bird, Miss Leona Sumsion and Mrs. Frank Salisbury. I Mrs. Ivan Childs of this city, assisted as-sisted by Mrs. Herman Spurgeon of Pt-ovo, entertained at an enoyable bridge luncheon at the Childs home Wednesday evening, complimentary to Mrs. Samuel Jepperson, Jr., of Provo, who is leaving soon with her husband and family to live in California. Cali-fornia. Gladiolis and asters prettily pret-tily decorated the entertaining rooms. Mrs. H. E. Urquhart received re-ceived the card favor and presented it to the honor guest. An elaborate luncheon was served to the following follow-ing ladies present: Mrs. Samuel Jepperson, Mrs. Shirley Bee, Mrs. A. B. Morgan, Mrs. John W. Farrer, Mrs. Lee Madsen and Mrs. Joseph Seethaler, of Provo; Mrs. H. E. Urquhart, Mrs. C. F. Packard, Mrs. G. W. Mendenhall, Mrs. A. H. Childs, Mrs. William McKenzie, Mrs. J. F. Smith, Mrs. J. F. Wilkins of this city, and Mrs. Arvil Child of American Fork. I Among the interesting social events of this week was the wedding wed-ding of Miss Marie Busby of Provo Pro-vo and Horace Gammell of this city, which took place Tuesday evening eve-ning at the home of the bride's parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. George Busby. The ceremony was performed by Bishop H. A. Dixon of the Provo Third ward. Members of the immediate im-mediate families of the couple were present. The bride wore an elaborate elab-orate gown of tan crepe-back-satin and carried a bouquet of sweet peas and roses. A color scheme of pink and white was effectively carried out in room decorations, baskets of late summer flowers being employed. employ-ed. The young couple expect to make their home in Springville. |
