Show SOCIETY I A number of frends delightfully surprised George Crandall at his home Sunday, the occasion being his birthday anniversary. The evening eve-ning was pleasantly spent with games, music and social chat. A tasty luncheon was served in' the late evening to Mr. and Mrs. Paul Brown, Mr. and Mrs- Ed Johnson Mr. and Mrs. Harry Pennington and Mr. and Mrs. George Crandall. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Piper and two daughters, who were visiting here from Salt Lake, were dinner guests Wednesday at the home of Mr. and Mrs- Harry Pennington. Delightful in every detail was the Kensington given by Misses Margaret Mar-garet and Mary Bird at their home in this city Thursday, complimentary compli-mentary to Miss Helen Swenson of Pleasant Grove, student of the B. Y. U., whose martige will take place this week. Following an enjoyable en-joyable program, the girls spent the afternoon embroidering tea towels for the bride-to-be. A tasty luncheon was served. Guests included in-cluded the following, all members of the Val Norn social unit of the B. Y. U., Ruth and Margaret Hansen, Han-sen, Ruth Clark, Josinetle Cook, Mar val Hodson, Pearl Da hie, Ada Burch, Elaine Paxman, Vesta Anderson, An-derson, Arlene Harris, Helen Mendenhall, Men-denhall, Fay Allred, Lois Nielsen, Beth Swenson, Ada Ilaslcr and Donna Salisbury. Misses Emily and Gwen Martin, Harold Johnson and Vere Vincent, of Provo, enjoyed a motor trip over the Timpanogos loop Sunday and supper at Aspen Grove. Later the pa i'ty enjoyed a swim In Hebcr Hot Springs. Complimentary to her little daughter, Gloria, who was three years old Thursday, Mrs. Manferd H utchinson entertained at a pret-lily pret-lily arranged party in her honor. In the afternoon a pretty pink birthday birth-day cake was the outstanding feature fea-ture of the dainty lunch, which was served by the hostess to about twenty little, friends present. A variety of interesting games added much to the spirit of the party. Complimentary to Mr. and Mrs. Harold Knudson of Amherst, Mass., Mr. and Mrs. E. E. Knudsen entertained enter-tained at a nicely-arranged dinner j at their home July 2-1- Summer I flowers were used in table decora- tions. Covers were laid for seven,1 including members of the immediate immedi-ate family, Mrs. Amanda Knudsen of Provo and the guests of honor-Honoring honor-Honoring her husband, whose birt lulay anniversary occurred Wednesday, Mrs. E.
