Show PROVO WOMAN HEADS COUNTY D. U. P. GROUP sfr Mrs. Josephine C. Jones of Provo was elected president of the Daughters Daugh-ters of Utah Pioneers of Utah coun- ty at the convention held in the Utah stake tabernacle Friday afternoon. after-noon. Mrs. Bernetta M. Beck, retiring re-tiring president, presided "at the session. One hundred fifty delegates from the various camps of the county i were in attendance at the meeting, and the tabernacle was well filled. Special guests were Mrs. Fannie C. Woodruff, Mrs. Fllen C. Arnold and t Mrs. 'Eleanor Woolley of Salt Lake, members of the slat.; central committee. Other officers elected at the convention con-vention were Rosalind-, A. Oakley, first vice president; Hannah G. Adylotte, second vice president; Mabel Gadd Kirk, recording secret I tary; Rose Brown Hayes, cm., - ponding secretary; Phoebe Black Reed, assistant recording secretary; Josephine S. Bird, treasurer; Rose Hardy Farrer, registrar; Clara Black Warniek, historian ; Martha J. Jones, custodian of relics; Alta C. Strong, assistant custodian of relics; Evelyn Steele Birdk chap- lain; Miss Sadie Chipman, auditor; Eva Ward Heal, chorister; Stella S. Hyde, organist; Eleanor Farrer Duke, librarian; Mary J. C. Fin-ley, Fin-ley, parliamentarian. Mrs. May Smoot Glazier, retiring parliamentarian, parliamen-tarian, had charge of the' election. The meeting was opened with congregational singing of "Come. I Come. Ye Saints." after which the invoeatin wao offered by Mrs. Clara F. Warniek. An original pioneer song was furnished by a chorus of Spanish Fork women. Mrs. Beck gave an interesting and complete report of the activities activi-ties of the pioneer daughters of the county during the past two years, and Mrs. Maria Dixon Taylor Tay-lor gave the treasurer's report. Remarks were made by the Salt Lake visitors, and the closing number num-ber was a vonal duet furnished by Mrs. Eva Heal and Mrs. Frisby. Mrs. Annie Rawlings Holman pronounced pro-nounced the benediction. |
