Show Total of 1,165 geese banded A total of 1,165 Canada geese had been banded on Utah marshes by Department of Fish and Game biologists as this annual program came to a close last week. This compares with 764 geese banded in 1962, with the increase in numbers being credited to better nesting conditions con-ditions this spring and an increased in-creased effort to band segments seg-ments of the State's goose population of which little is known. Using airboats to reach the moulting adult and flightless young birds, Department employees em-ployees worked marshes at the Public Shooting Grounds, Ogden Og-den Bay, Farmington Bay, Redmond Lake, Wales Reservoir, Reser-voir, Bicknell Bottoms, Koo-sharem Koo-sharem Reservoir, Otter Creek Reservoir, Neponsit Reservoir and the Bear River in Rich County. Through publi,c cooperation in returning the bands from geese harvested during the hunts, this project supplies valuable information for improved im-proved management of these large waterfowl. Eventually we may discover that the embalmers' lobby kept grade crossings on the map. If you have something to buy, rent or sell or trade, try the classified section for quick results.
