Antelope permits on sale July 22 Beginning July 22 hunters may make application for one of the limited number of ante-lope permits made available this year under terms of the 1963 elk, moose, buffalo and antelope proclamation. By terms outlined in the proclamation, approved two weeks ago by the Utah Board of Big Game Control, hunters may apply for one of the 115 antelope permits on any one of five separate hunting units. These areas include the Bon-anza, 20 permits; Cedar City, 15 permits; Daggett, 30 per-mits; San Raphael, 20 per-mits; and Southwest Desert, 20 permits. No hunts were set this vear for either the West Desert or Box Elder antelope areas. A limited hunt for an inde-terminate number of mature buffalo, pending completion of the current project to trap and test these animals for the pre-sence of Brucellosis, has once again been authorized this year for Utah's small wild herd of these animals ranging in the. vicinity of the Henry Mountains in southcentral Ut. Application deadline for per-mits to hunt these animals will be midnight, July 27. Successful applicants will be determined on the basis of a public drawing to be held at 10 a.m. Aug. 2, at the State Capitol. In relation to the hunts, the Department of Fish and Game reminded today only residents of the State may make application to take ante-lope. It was further noted that hunters who were successful in obtaining antelope permits in 1961 or 1962 may not make application this year. Orem schedules UBBA tourney One of the biggest tourna-ments ever held in Orem is set August 5 to 10 at the City baseball diamonds. It will be the little League of Utah Boys Baseball Associ-ation comprising 32 teams from Lehi to Monticello, and will decide the championship in six days of spirited compe-tition. These boys, ranging in age from 10 to 12, represent the best of some 2000 Little Lea-- gue baseball players from over 100 teams throughout central and southern Utah. Admission to the games will be free to the public, and plen-ty of seating room is prom-ised.
