On the days when nothing special was planned for us by the studios, we visited Disneyland, Disney-land, Marinelnd, Forest Lawn The week I spent representing represent-ing Springville as a good-will ambassador to California was a week that I will long remember. re-member. The group which I traveled with cinsisted of 11 representatives from other cities in Utah and three chap-arones. chap-arones. Each day was filled with activities and interviews with interesting people; never a minute lacking excitement. We were treated as royalty; our every need .was fulfilled. Among other things, the trip consisted of a stop in Las Vegas, Nevada the first night on the road and a visit to Memorial and also took a day out to go to the ocean. Although I enjoyed very much all the activities and interviews in-terviews that were planned, the thing which impressed me most was the friendliness of the people that I met. People were very congenial and were always al-ways interested in Utah when we told them we were from that state. They, always wanted want-ed to know all about it. The friendliness of the other students stu-dents on the trip was the most outstanding of all to (Continued on page 9 Col 1) : many famous places there. Upon reaching California the next night, we found that reservations res-ervations had already been made for us to stay at a hotel ho-tel in Los Angeles, so we made L.A. our home-away-from-home and traveled to different places pla-ces from there. Our days in California proved prov-ed to be exciting ones. Each one was full of new and different dif-ferent things to do. Tours, however, seemed to be the most frequent thing we did. Tours to CBS, NBC, and ABC had already been planned for us ahead of time and were really events to be remembered. remember-ed. Each studio took us 10 lunch on the day that we visited visit-ed them and it was interesting interest-ing to talk with the people who were head of the different departments. We were able to meet many of the stars of television, including in-cluding such people as Loyd Bridges, Bob Barker, Wishbone, Wish-bone, one of the stars of Rawhide, Raw-hide, and Art Linkletter.
