That evening they will be honored at a weddin tion in Kolob Stake House. A graduate of Springville High School and LDs inary, the lovely bride-to-b- e has been attending b Young University and is now employed in Pr0v0 Mr. Curtis also graduated from Springville HiVh e, and LDS Seminary. He has filled a mission in Great l'' and will return to Brigham Young University this f resume his studies. '. a The couple will make a home in Provo. Miss Laraine Boyer, whose marriage to L. Terry Curtis, will be an event of August 17, in the Manti LDS Temple. Club hears special talk Dean Jones, sueprvisor of special education for children in Nebo School District, was the principal speaker at the meeting of the Active 20-3- 0 Anns Monday evening:, at Mel-ody Inn. The speaker discussed the program being carried on in special services rendered these children and at the close of his talk, the club memebrs dis-cussed plans to raise funds to help those who need special classes. The club group as a whole favored an educational pro-gram to learn more of the han-dicapped children and what is being done for them. Next meeting of the group was announced for August 6, at the home of Mrs. Barbara Martain. Mrs. Nathan W. Lee (Joan Bleggi) and son Kevin of Bak-ersfiel- d, Calif., have returned to their home after a two weeks visit with her folks, Mr. and Mrs. Angelo Bleggi and other relatives and friends in Springville. Mr. and Mrs. H. Lewis Clegg and their daughter and son- - in-la- Mr. and Mrs. J. Grant Richardson and grandson Ste-ven of Salt Lake City, spent last week at Fish Lake, enjoy-ing boating, fishing and visit-ing. Mrs. Nena Harmer is spend-ing two weeks at Roy, Utah, the guest of her son and daughter-in-la- Mr. and Mrs. Blaine Harmer and family. Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Mac Gregor are moving from Orin-d- a, Calif., to Salt Lake City, where Mr. Mac Gregor will work as an engineer. Mrs. Mac Gregor, the former Delia Holmes of this city and chil-dren have been visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Holmes in Springville. Family honors mother on 80th birthday Mrs. Emma Haymond was honored with a family er Friday evening, July 27, the occasion being her 80th birthday. The party was held in the garden of the home of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Haymond, with most of the adult family members in attendance. Mr. and Mrs. LaVon Haymond re-siding in Los Angeles, Calif., were unable to attend. A nicely arranged turkey dinner was served and the group also enjoyed visiting. In attendance were: Mr. and Mrs. T. Melvin Haymond, Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Haymond, May-or and Mrs. Paul Haymond, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Hay-mond all of Springville; Mr. and Mrs. H. LaCelle Haymond, Salt Lake City; Mr. and Mrs. Henry J. Johnson of Spanish Fork and their children; also married grandchildren: Mr. & Mrs. Jay Haymond, Klamath Falls, Mont., Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Haymond, Alhambra, Calif.; Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Carlan, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Phil (Carol) Haymond, Seat-tle, Wash.; Mrs. Keith (Paula) Myers, San Diego, Calif.; Mrs. David (Joan) Haymond of San Francisco, Calif. Mrs. Haymond was born in Springville July 27, 1882, a daughter of Edwin and Mary Emma Marchbanks. She spent her very early life in Spring-ville and after her marriage, lived a number of years at Mapleton. She has been active in LDS church work especially in Re-lief Society, in which she has served as a visiting teacher many years. She is also a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers. She has six .sons and one daughter;' also 30 grandchildren and 41 great grandchildren. Six of her grandsons have filled or are presently serving on LDS missions. Two of her sons, Melvin Haymond and Mayor Paul M. Haymond have been selected in years past as Springville's outstanding young men. '1 Miss Peggy Mitchell of Spanish Fork, who will be mar-ried to Paul B. Cragun of Springville on August 9. Springville man to take bride in Spanish Fork rites August 9 Lovely Miss Peggy Mitchell, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frost Mitchell of Spanish Fork will recite marriage vows with Paul R. Cragun, a son of Mr. and Mrs. W. Rumel Cragun of Springville, on Thursday, August 9. The marriage will take place in the Spanish Fork Stake House and will be followed by a reception. Miss Mitchell attended Spanish Fork High School. Her fiance is a senior at Brigham Young University majoring in accounting with a minor in air science, and is enrolled in the ROTC. He is a graduate of Springville High School and the LDS Seminary. Visitor honored at parties A number of social func-tions were given in honor of Mrs. Paul Eggertsen (Maurine Child) during her visit here from Washington D.C. She left Friday by plane to return home following a two-wee-stay. Among parties given for her was a nicely arranged lunch-eon by a sister-in-la- Mrs. Earl Child for -- Mrs. Eggertsen's ' friends, including- d! k Stewart, Ultae Miller.
