Show I Mapleton News ; By Mrs. Norris T. Binks Phone HUnter 9-5875 A ward social has been scheduled for Friday November Novem-ber 15 in the ward recreation hall for the Mapleton ward. This is not a fund raising- campaign cam-paign but a chance for ward members to get together for an evening of social entertainment. entertain-ment. The Primary will have a party for their members after af-ter school Friday, and the MIA will be in charge of the evening events for all ward members over Primary age beginning be-ginning at 7:00 p.m. The Mapleton Ward is sponsoring spon-soring a house building project this winter. This house will be sold in the spring and the money raised will be used to finance the ward building fund needed to enlarge the chapel. Calvin Monk and Lewis Snow have now completed digging the basement for the home, and those who can participate in this project will be called from time to time as labor is needed. need-ed. The building committee is as follows: general chairman, Douglas Bills; work director, Ermal Jensen; collection committee, com-mittee, Burton Warren; socials, Richard Bills and accounting, Collin Allan. Cub Scouts of Pack 3162 held their meeting recently in the church recreation hall. Jack-o-lanterns o f different kinds decorated the stage. The boys presented a pantomime of "Little Orphan Annie." Several Sever-al boys were presented with awards. The Mapleton Second ward sponsored a budget banquet in the ward recreation hall where the meal was planned by the Relief Society members of the ward. Mr. and Mrs. Bryce Anderson Ander-son and two children have been visiting in Richfield with Mrs. Anderson's parents. Recent visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. David Perry has been her sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Dale Olson and family of Rigby, Idaho. Mr. and Mrs. Gary Rasmus-sen Rasmus-sen are happy over the arrival arri-val of a new baby boy. Earlier in the month, the combined Co-Pilot classes of Velma Williams and Cleola Evans, held their parents program pro-gram in the Relief Society room. Each parent presented a compass to their own child. Twenty-two compasses were earned and given. Each child had to do three things in order or-der to receive his compass: 1 Name the first principles and ordinances of the Gospel of Jesus Christ; 2 Help prepare and take part of the parents ter Virginia of Las Vegas, Nevada.
