Show Club group enjoys program on music A musical program featuring featur-ing the life and works of Victor Vic-tor Herbert, entertained members mem-bers of the Mothers Study club, when they were guests of Mrs. Anna Johnson Friday afternoon, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Jessie J. Dal-ton. Dal-ton. Melba Wheeler and Vera Zo-bell, Zo-bell, assisted by Mary Parker, gave the program reviewing the many accomplishments of the famous musician. They also gave a number of his compositions compo-sitions in vocal duets, and solos so-los with Miss Parker accompanist. accom-panist. The meeting was in charge of President Zelma Beardall, who asked Grace Martindale to read the club collect. Hilda Cherrington reported on the Legislative Council meeting and Mrs. Beardall reported on the club Council meet. An extemporaneous part on the program came when Ella Reynolds paid tribute in original ori-ginal verse to Anna Johnson, whose 83rd birthday was January Jan-uary 5. Mrs. Johnson in turn announced that Mrs. Reynolds would be 85 on Friday, January Janu-ary 20. The club sang Happy Birthday to the two members. In conclusion, lunch was served by the hostesses. |
