Show studies of the United States. They have made many colorful charts and maps for display. Last Tuesday Hans Peter Schnyder from Switzerland, who is now going to BYU came and talked to Mr. Allred's sixth grade about his country. He told them things about his people peo-ple and his country. He also had some slides to show. The program was very interesting and in keeping with their studies stud-ies of peoples around the world. Every class in the Brookside School put a lot of effort and creative activity into the displays dis-plays for our social studies fair. It was held Wednesday and many parents and friends came to see the displays. Brookside School news of week Sammy Barker had a birthday; birth-day; Kim got his mouth operated oper-ated on, and Sammy Barker and Rodney Oldroyd were baptized bap-tized Sunday, all from the Second Sec-ond grade. Miss Davis' fourth graders faced the bitter weather in full force last Friday with their rakes and did their best on clean-up day. "We can't say we enjoyed the task, but certainly cer-tainly we rejoiced to be home out of the wind." They are now renewing interest in Library Week by planning to have some good book reports and dramatizations drama-tizations of stories. Vivian Huff of Mrs. Uibel's third grade fell against the side of the building and cut her knee badly. Mr. Frandsen took her to the doctor for immediate immed-iate attention. We hope she'll soon be back with us. Mr. Poulsen's fifth graders made their display for the social soc-ial studies fair around their |
