Active 20-3- 0 Anns work on projects Members of the Active 20-3- 0 Anns have spent time at their two last meetings work-ing on Civil Defense survey and their ta pro-jects which includes giving away the Merry-go-Roun- d seen in Friel's window. The meetings were held at the home of Barbara Martain and Mary Louise Brereton on two different occasions and were concluded with refresh-ments. Next meeting of the group will be December 6, at the home of Dixie Miller where a toy and lingerie demonstration party will bt given. Hafen-Dalli- n Club sees Andrus' paintings An interesting talk by the Provo artist Roman Andrus, was a highlight of the tour of art in the Provo Utilities Building made by members of the Hafen-Dalli- n Art Study club at their November meet-ing. Twenty five ladies were in attendance. As the group viewed Mr. Andrus' paintings on display, he talked about them and told why he painted them. He said, among other things, that up to a point, the artists paints what he sees and then symbo-lizes what he knows and what he needs to eternalize his feel-ings. He demonstrated how a woodcut was made and des-cribed the excitement of watch-ing a print come from the de-sign. He told the group that to create is to search one's soul; to wrench his aesthelic sensa-biliti- es and to make subtle de-cisions about the nebulous con-cepts not real enough to re-cord. Mrs. Mae Huntington, presi-dent of the club, was in charge of the meeting at which the group project was also dis-cussed. Don't brag. It isn't the whis-tle that pulls the train. |
