Show Jell5 Fjotei . . . Mr. and Mrs. Harlan Boyer have returned from a delightful delight-ful visit in California with their sons Blaine and family at Newark and Kenneth and family at Mountain "View. They also visited numerous places of tourist attraction during their stay. They made the trip by jet taking only one and a half hours to go from Utah to the coast. Their granddaughter granddaugh-ter returned with them and will stay a few weeks until her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Boyer come here for their vacation. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Hanson enjoyed a visit the past week from Mr. Hanson's niece, Mrs. Thelma Coombs of Henderson, Nev. She is a native of Spanish Span-ish Fork and also visited relatives rela-tives and friends in that city. Dr. . and Mrs. C. E. Hopla and three children, Richard, Danny and Anna of Norman, Okla., visited here briefly the past week enroute to Fairbanks, Fair-banks, Alaska, where Dr. Hop-la, Hop-la, an entamologist, will do federal research work. He has been given a leave of absence from the university at Norman Nor-man and they expect to be inl Alaska about 15 months. They spent the time here with Mrs. Hopla's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Abe Ullock and visited other relatives and friends. They drove to Seattle, Wash., and took a jet to Fairbanks. Mrs. Phillip Brown, the former for-mer Mary Ivory of this city and their new baby boy born May 23, have been visiting in Springville the past two weeks with Mrs. Brown's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Ivory and other relatives and friends in Springville. The Browns make their home in Salt Lake. Recent visitors at the Louis Johnson home have been Mr. and Mrs. Lester Johnson of San Diego and his sister, Mrs. Ellen Bowen of Spanish Fork. Monday evening, the Johnsons entertained at a family dinner with guests including a cousin, Mrs. Edna Mills of Redondo Beach, Calif., and a niece, Mrs. Gladys Johnson of Mapleton. Mrs. Bill Talmadge has been visiting relatives and friends in Springville from her home on the coast. Don Roylance, son of Attorney At-torney and Mrs. Arnold Roylance Roy-lance left Friday for Fort Ord, Calif., for his six months training with the U. S. Army Reserve. In his honor his parents par-ents entertained approximately forty relatives and friends at an Open House at their home Wednesday, 1 the time being spent visiting and taking pictures pic-tures and refreshments were served. Mr. and Mrs. Bert Brown and daughter Mary have returned re-turned from an enjoyable vacation va-cation trip to Hope, . Ark., where the visited briefly with their son Robert, who is serving serv-ing an LDS mission in that area. Enroute, they spent some time with Mrs. Brown's sister and husband, Dr. and Mrs. C. E. Hopla at Norman, Okla. They toured places of interest in Mississippi, Texas and New Mexico, returning by way of Page, Ariz., to see Glenn Canyon Can-yon dam. |
