Show Fish Lake Gets 25,000 Mackinaw A plant of 25,000 mackinaw trout was made at Fishlake last week according to the department de-partment of fish and game. The fish went into this popular pop-ular southern Utah lake as advance fingerling after being hatched and matured at the Panguitch hatchery. All were marked by finclipping prior to the plant. Eggs from which the fish were raised were purchased purchas-ed from an out-of-state source during 1958. Another 5,000 of these fish are being held at the Panguitch plant for experimental purposes as the fish are raised to larger size in the hatchery. The mackinaw, or lake trout, is stocked only in Fishlake and Bear Lake by the department. |
