Show School Board Gives $150 for Art; ; Raises Lunch Workers' Wages Nebo School District Board of Education at their Monday evening meeting voted to give aw) to the Springville Art for 1959, the motion being made by Carl A. Fatten. The group also adopted a budget bud-get of $3,878,321 for next school year, following a public hearing at which no one but the board attended. A low bid from the Springville Spring-ville Banking Co. in the sale of short term tax notes, was accepted by the board which decided also to put what funds is not needed at present into government securities. The balance of funds on hand June 1, was reported to be 5845,615.82. ; The board allowed an aver-I aver-I age increase of $13.29 per month to the 8-hour unit man- agers of the school lunch; cal- !( cuJated on participation basis, an average of $6 per month for 6-hour regular lunch personnel and 10 cents per hour increase for employees on an hourly ba- sis. A motion was passed at the meeting to accept some changes chang-es on the contract for the Pe-teetneet Pe-teetneet school additions. The clerk also reported, "William White who had been living in the Goshen dwelling, moved out June 1." (The minutes min-utes did not specify why he moved out or for what the building is to be used.) It was decided to hold board meetings during July and August Aug-ust at 8 p.m., instead of the usual 7 o'clock. Clarence J. Wendell, who was recently appointed clerk of the board to succeed Ben L. Isaac and who is assistant superintendent, was named to represent Nebo School district on the Utah County Civic Coordinating Co-ordinating Council for the coming com-ing year. |
