Mrs. Nita Eggertsen, wife of Dr. Claude Eggertsen of Ann Arbor, Mich., is visiting at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Wakefield at Provo and Dr. Eggertsens family at Springville. Nitas visit is oc-casioned by the arrival of a son to her daughter Jill and her husband Dr. Virgil Fair-banks at Salt Lake. Born May 15, the new arrival is the first grandchild of Claude and Nita. ewA Fote5 . . . Mrs. Elizabeth Miner of this city joined seven cousins on their mother's side of the fam-ily for dinner and an afternoon of visiting and reviewing his-tories at the home of Mrs. Reva Tew Allred in Lehi. Others attending were Mrs. Erma Titus, an aunt of Salt Lake; Mrs. Marie Bishop and Mrs. Bardell Jorgensen of Salt Lake; Mrs. Louise Wiscombe of Pleasant Grove; Mrs. Marian Tuckett of Lakeshort and Mrs. Ida Greenhalgh of Santaquin. Mrs. Thomas Stanton of Or-ind- a, Calif., is spending about a month with her brother and sister-in-la- Mr. and Mrs. Sterling E. Price in Spring-v-ill- e. Mr. and Mrs. Lee Davis en-joyed a visit from their daugh-ter and son-in-la- Mr. and Mrs. Lamar Mason and child-ren of Murray over the Memo-rial Day weekend. Visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Eggertsen, dur- - lewi lfole5 . . . Calvin Sumslon, son of Mrs. Julia Sumsion, left Sunday for Grand Canyon where he will be employed for the summer by Utah Parks. Mr. and Mrs. Glen Clark (Carol Cherrington) and fam-ily of Snowflake, Ariz., have spent the past few days in Springville visiting with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Cherrington and Bill Clark. They came especially to at-tend the Cherrington's Golden Wedding celebration. Glen who is teaching at Snowflake, plans to attend summer school at the BYU and his wife and fam-ily will return to their home in Arizona. Mr. and Mrs. C. G. Russell have had as their guests this week, Mrs. Russell's brother and wife, Mr. and Mrs. E. L. Russell of Los Angeles, Calif. They came to Utah especially to attend the graduation of France Childs and six daugh-ters; a daughter Theo, Mr. and Mrs. John Eves and four chil-dren and Mrs. Mary Eves of Salt Lake City; a daughter Geniel, Mr. and Mrs. Alton Johnson and two children of Provo and Mr. and Mrs. Alden Erickson and three children of Logan. Mrs. O. F. Burton of Salt Lake visited over the Memorial Day holiday stopping at the home of a brother and sister-in-la- Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Thorpe and visited other rela-tives and friends here. 3Ir. and Mrs. Frank Fullmer and two children are expected to arrive here this weekend from Cleveland, Ohio, where he is attending Dental school, to spend the summer. Mrs. Full-mer is the former Donna Jean Crandall, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Crandall. their daughter from the BYU Friday. Ed. Anthon has returned to Springville from Wenatchee, Wash., where he has spent the past seven months with his son and daughter-in-la- Mr. and Mrs. Ted Anthon and daughter. He returned home by plane and enroute stopped at Tooele where he spent two weeks with another son and family. A1C James D. (Doug) Poul-se- n came from Denver, Colo., where he is taking an eight week's schooling to spend the Memorial weekend with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Shirl Poulsen and other relatives and friends. Guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Shirl Poulsen for Sunday morning breakfast were Mr. Poulsen's sister, Mrs. Dorothy Larsen of San Mateo, and Mrs. Tressa Bateman of Salt Lake City; also Mr. and Mrs. E. F. Perham and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Poulsen of Springville. Mrs. Larsen and Mrs. Bateman also visited the Perhams and the Harold Poul-sen- s during their two day stay. Mr. and Mrs. VVandel Open-- shaw of Price and Mrs. Nettie Hoyle and Mr. and Mrs. Jack Hoyle and children of Salt Lake City were among the Memorial Day visitors in Springville. Mrs. Erva Childs enjoyed a visit from several members of her family over the Memorial Day weekend. Coming from Richfield were her son and daughter-in-la- Mr. and Mrs. Paul Newman had his hai, dyed blond for "Sweet Bird t Youth," but it's a weird straw berry pink, away from tT stage lights. ule - i . . . j ' N, ." Schwartz, right, son of Mrs. Mary Schwartz of this city, is seen aboard the USS Dixie, Cruiser-Destroy- er Force US Pa-cific Fleet, receiving special commendations for his recent outstanding performance while assigned to additional duty as he worked as a technician in charge of radar installations. Letters of appreciation were also received by Tom's mother from his commanding officer stating among other things that, "Tom's initiative, technical knowledge and devotion to duty contributed significantly to the success of the team . . . . it was frequently necessary that he work for long periods with little supervision and opportunities for rest and relaxation was limited. On a tour since the first of the year and which included the Orient with present station in Japan, Tom expects to complete his stay in the Navy and be re-leased in July. ! Y.
