Show Springville Builders Get Contracts On Spanish Fork Grade School Two Springville contractors and one from Mapleton submitted low bids on various phases of construction of the proposed new grade school at Spanish Fork, it was announced following a special spe-cial meeting of the board on Wednesday of last week when the bids were opened. Steven Miller bid low on general gen-eral construction of the building build-ing with a figure of $222,315. Other bids ranging as high as $242,516 were made by builders build-ers in Provo, Salt Lake, Heber and Payson. The low bid on plumbing the school was made by Hjorth Brothers of Mapleton for $56,-388. $56,-388. Buskley-Johnson also of this city came third low and other bids up to $69,123, were submitted by concerns in Salt Lake, Provo, Ogden, Spanish Fork, Payson and Pleasant Grove. Wendall Erdman of Springville Spring-ville was successful bidder on the electrical work his figure being $13,250. Next lowest was from Spanish Fork with others from Richfield, Provo, Salina, and Mapleton, ranging as high as $17,500. Motion was made by Richard M. Taylor, seconded by Carl A. Patten the board accept all three low bids. The board authorized an appropriation ap-propriation of $150 to the Utah State Livestock Show at Spanish Span-ish Fork. Quotation lists for purchase of paint for maintenance work during the summer were submitted sub-mitted and after some discussion, discus-sion, were tabled for another meeting. The board decided the summer sum-mer maintenance labor day directed by A. J. Bowen would be from 8 a.m., until 4:30 p.m. with a half hour noon. |
