Show Funeral Services Today 1 p.m. for James Viscombe Funeral services for James Newland Wiscombe, 77, well-known well-known retired farmer and cattleman cat-tleman of Mapieton, will be i '.. . . held today (Thursday) at 1 p.m., in the Mapieton ward chapel. Bishop Reed Bennett of the Mapieton Second ward will be in charge. Friends may call at the family fam-ily residence at Mapieton, before be-fore the services. Burial will be in the Evergreen cemetery, directed di-rected by Wheeler Mortuary. Mr. Wiscombe died early Tuesday morning of pneumonia at the family residence. He had been in ill health for the past several years, but was confined to his bed only a few days. Born in Springville March 11, 1881, he was a son of early residents, Wm. Funeral Services Today For James Wiscombe (Continued from Page 1) married Nellie Weight of this city December 30, 1908. The marriage was later solomnized in the Salt Lake Temple. They moved to Mapleton the year of their marriage where Mr. Wiscombe engaged in farming and cattle raising. He served as president of the Mapleton Cattle Association Associa-tion for 30 years. He was also a member of the Mapleton water wa-ter board for a number of years and served at one time on the city council. He was also town marshall for several years. Surviving besides his wife of Mapleton are four sons and daughters, Joseph and Elmer Wiscombe; Mrs. Preston (Ruth) Hooper of Mapleton |
