Brigham McAllister went to Salt Lake City last Friday, where he will enter the machine shops of Silver Bros., to learn the trade. Mrs. Ed. Hess, daughter of -S. P. Rasmusson, who has been ill for a long time at her parents home in this city, is now recovering recover-ing nicely. Pres. J. D. T. McAllister left for Salt Lako City on Monday, in response to a telegram announcing the sudden death of his son, Richard Rich-ard McAllister. The deceased was found dead on the stairs of the White House hotel at 4:30 o'clock Sunday morning by the night clerk. The coroner, after examining the body, said he did not think an inquest in-quest was necessary. An autopsy was performed by County Physician Physi-cian Mayo, and all the organs were found in fairly healthy condition. It is stated that McAllister called at the hotel shortly after 2 o'clock and asked for a room, but the clerk told him the rooms were all occupied. occu-pied. He then asked permission to rest in the office for awhile. The clerk says he remained there for about an hour and then went out. After leaving the hotel, he was seen going east on Second South and at about 4:30 he returned return-ed to the hotel. The clerk heard him fall down stairs and he at once hastened to his assistance. Before help could arrive the man was dead. The deceased was 38 years of age and had lived in Salt Lake the greater part of his life, lie was a son of Jno. D. T. McAllister and Angeline S. G. McAllister. His funeral was held yesterday from the home of his sister, Mrs. Gab-bott, Gab-bott, 1460 south State street. The Summer School boys laid it all over the Manti boys in a game of baseball last Friday afternoon, the score being 28 to 8. Our boys hardly know how it happened, but they know it did happen. A large crowd was present and the day was pleasantly spent in pic-nicing pic-nicing and other amusements.
