SAW HIM COMINt NIMCOFIR3T AND SHOT FIRT 4 Quarrel Between Neighboring Farmers in Oregon That Results in a Tragedy Saw His Enemy Approaching With a Revolver In His Hand and Promptly Dropped Him With a Winchester Dufur Springs OrcAs a result ota ot-a quarrel between neighboring farmers farm-ers Richard Bennett Darnell known as Dick Bennett was shot and killed by Charles Underwood Underwood and his partner Maurice Woodward had an altercation with Mrs Darnell Late at night Darnell went to the place occupied by Underwood and Woodward Wood-ward and demanded that they come at once and apologize to Mrs Darnell under pain of being killed Under wood did as demanded but Woodward ran away After apologizing Under wood was allowed to go but was ordered or-dered to leave the country The next day Darnell paid another visit to Un derwood and Woodward As Under wood saw him approaching carrying a drawnrevolver he opened fire on Dar nell with a rifle and killed him Un derwood has surrendered himself to the authorities
