Show jRotarians Assigned to Convention Work j Members Placed on Committees Which Will Have Charge of Features; Ladies' Night Brilliant Success. SALT LAKE Eotarians and their 1 wives were told last night what parts they will play as hosts and i hostesses at the iutcruulioual I convention, which w ill meet here next I month. Announcement of. the program I to be followed, as well as the assignments assign-ments of individuals to their particular particu-lar functions during the convention, were made at a dinner dance held at the Hotel Ltah. .Some of the songs with which the visitors will be entertained were practiced prac-ticed duriug tho evening, and the plans for giving the guests a welcome worthy of tho city and the west were outlined in detail. The regular weekly luncheon lunch-eon of the club was omitted in favor of the dinner dance in order that the Kotarian ladies might have opportunity to learn what will be expected of them, as well as of their husbands. The program for the convention, together to-gether Willi the special entertainment features, were outlined by James Collins of the executive committee. "Mr. Collins stated that, as 3350 visiting Ro-tarians, Ro-tarians, with escorts, were expected, the ladies must share in every way the responsibility of receiving and entertaining en-tertaining the distinguished guests. Aside from the announcement of the plans for the convention, the biggest feature fea-ture of the evening was the distribution to the ladies present of prizes valued at more than $1000. Chairmen of the various subcommittees reported to the meeting at large what thev will expect from their helpers. J. David Larson, secretary of the Commercial Commer-cial club and chairman of the reception committee, announced that he and his assistants will welcome all the incoming Rotarians and their guests the minute they step from the trains at the depots. His committeemen and committeewomen will be busiest on Sunday, June lo, when the bulk of the visiting delegations are due to arrive. But they will make provision, pro-vision, too, for welcoming of others whenever when-ever they come into town. E A' Hampton, chairman of tne hotel committee, said that he still has TSd guests on his lists for whom accommodations accommo-dations have not yet been secured. He called for the co-operation of local Rotarians Ro-tarians in caring for these, and urged that Rotarians make arrangements to accommodate ac-commodate them at their homes. It was not all business at last nights meeting, though business furnished the principal reason for the affair. Cabaret features and songs were provided, in addition addi-tion to the dancing. One of the songs, which was most heartily received, ran as follows: . , t. '"How are you going to wet your whistle When the whole darn world goes dry?
