Show Utah Cherry Crop This Season May Break AH Records FROM 14,000 to 15,000 refrigerator cars will be required this season sea-son to move the fruit and vegetable crops from stations along the Denver Den-ver & Rio Grande railroad, G. S. Kelch, general agent of tho American Amer-ican Refrigerator Transit company, who arrived here yesterday to survey sur-vey the situation, estimates. Utah fruit will start moving toward the eastern markets by the last of July, Mr. Kelch stated. The cherry crop will be first shipment to go out. Many more cars will be required to move this season's crop than last year, according to Mr. Kelch, as the crop is much larger and will perhaps turn out to be the biggest yet produced in the state. Only 13,000 refrigerator cars were required last year, it was stated. Six hundred freight cars will be required to move the sugar manufactured manu-factured this season by the Amalgamated Amal-gamated Sugar company of Ogden. |
