Show GRADUATES TO HOfi IlRYOFi PARK Elaborate Exercises to Be Held on U. of U. Campus Cam-pus Monday. Graduates of the University of Utah as far back as 1S72, together -with 1 graduates of other years since that time, will gather with the regents, mem-! mem-! bers of the faculty and the general public in paying homage to Dr. John R. Park at the university, Monday, ae-, ae-, cording to reports received last night, i John D. Spencer, chairman of the ' monument committee, which has charge of the erection of a bronzo figure of ' Dr. Park in the university, states that ; many men from out of the state who , cherish fond remembrance of their alma mater under Dr. Park's administration, will attend to pay homage to the great educator at the special esercises to be held in his honor .uouu.iy. Mr. Spencer reports that funds are not coming in as quickly as desired to pay for the bronze figure of Dr. Park and he urges all members of the Alumni association and others to respond so that no difficulty will arise in regard to the contract " with . M. M. Young, the sculptor, who is making the life-sized life-sized statue. In addition to the special exercises in honor of Dr. Park, the Alumni association asso-ciation will be host to the graduates of 1919 at a banquet in the university's dining room at 6:30 o'clock, Tuesday evening. This event will conclude the fiftieth annual, commencement and the John It. Park semi-centennial. The John ft. Park memorial committee, commit-tee, includes YValdomar Van Cott as chairman of the executive committee, with the following as heads of the subcommittees sub-committees named: Levi Kdgar Young, program committeo; II. G. Whitney, publicity committee', Mrs. John D. Spencer", invitation committee; T. P. Lewis, reception committee; John D. Spencer, monument committee, and Lucy Van Cott, decoration anil banquet committee. The honorary advisory committee com-mittee consists of J. IS. Toronto. Dr. J. A. Widtsoo and Dr. J. T. Kingsbury. |
