A proposal to create a ffl.OOn.ooo corporation to complete com-plete the Moffat tunnel under James peak for the Denver &. Salt Lake railroad, independent of state aid. was mafic to the Denver Civic and Commercial association asso-ciation today by Mayor Dewey C. Bailey. Mayor Bailey promised cit aid in pro-moting pro-moting the new company, which he said would bring to Denver a considerable' part of the business of the western slope of Colorado. He called attention to Boston's action in building a tunnel and railroad to bring business to that city and a similar step by Cincinnati. The legislature at the last session authorized au-thorized the appointment of a special commission to prepare plans for submission submis-sion to the voters of a bond issue to complete com-plete the tunnel. Mayor Bailey said the . tunnel proposition is one for Denver and i northwestern Colorado.
