Show UNDEFEATED BIG TEN TEAMS PLAY TODAY CHICAGO, Oct. 24. Six undefeated Western conference football elevens will go into action tomorrow in the resumption resump-tion of hostilities for the "Big Ten" championship. Although two of the eight teams which will take the gridiron have suffered defeats In earlier games, they are still considered dangerous contenders and may shatter the championship aspirations aspira-tions of their undefeated opponents. Chief interest centers in the game between be-tween Michigan and Ohio State, scheduled sched-uled for Ann Arbor. The contest will have an important bearing on the championship, cham-pionship, as the strength of these riva1 elevens is so well known that the victor will be considered a more formidable eleven than any other team seen in action ac-tion so far this season. Both teams have been groomed for a terrific struggle and have gone through preliminary games without injury to star players. One of the largest crowds that ever attended at-tended a football game in Chicago is ex- pected to witness the Chicago-Northwestern game. The seating capacity of Stagg field has been enlarged to accommodate 22,000 spectators. Chicago, because of its victory over Purdue a week ago, is expected ex-pected to win, although the Maroons are prepared for a desperate contest. Illinois, with two victories to its credit, will battle Wisconsin, another undefeated team, at Urban a. Wisconsin's triumph over Northwestern last Saturday has filled the Badgers with a new confidence, and they are determined to drive Illinois out of the race If possible. Despite its defeat at the hands of Illinois, Illi-nois, Iowa expects to make a creditable showing against Minnesota at Minneapolis Minne-apolis tomorrow. Several of the star players play-ers on the Iowa eleven were injured In the game against Illinois a week ago, and, unless they are able to return to the game in prime condition, Minnesota expects ex-pects to have little trouble In bagging another victory. |
