Show ANOTHER UTAH BOY DECORATED FOR BRAVERY George Frary of this city has received a letter from his won, Sergeant Frank M. Frary, who is now with the American forces at Krufi, Germany, Ger-many, In which the younp soldier writes interestincly of his experiences. Preceding his removal re-moval to Hun soil, Sergeant Frary was for a long1 period with F battery of the "4- B Third division. He Frank M' Frary advises his father that he has many interesting- souvenirs, which he found upon the battlefields, Including two tassels, tas-sels, which he picked up after the Marne battle, near Chateau-Thierry. The tassels tas-sels were used on the bayonet scabbards scab-bards of the Prussian Guards, the crown prince's own refitment, against which F battery fought from July 14 to 18, 1S18. Sergeant Frary gave evidence of determination de-termination in entering the service. Because Be-cause he is slightly under heiirht he was rejected at Ogden and Twin Falls, Idaho. He then appealed to Washington, and was accepted. .After training at Fort Douglas and Douglas, Ariz., he was sent direct to France. Sergeant Frary was personally complimented com-plimented and decorated by General Pershing Per-shing for conspicuous bravery at the battle of Greve's field, where he and a few other volunteers did magnificent work against a much larger force of Huna. |
