Show PIONEER GROCERYMAN IS DEAD AT HUNTER Special, to The Tribune. . HUNTER, Aug. 3. Rasmus Xfelson, a pioneer of 1S05, died here Sunday morning. morn-ing. He was born in Denmark, June 24, 1S4, "and came to Utah in 1865, driving stock across the plains with the company in charge of Thomas Taylor. After living in South Cottonwood for eight years he moved to Hunter and took up a homestead. home-stead. In 18S2 he established the first grocery store in the valley west of the Jordan river. Ho was at one time postmaster and also served as a school trustee for a number of years. He is survived by his second wife, four sons, five daughters and twenty-two grandchildren. His first wife died several years ago. Funeral services will be held in the Hunter ward meeting house Tuesday . afternoon, at 2 o'clock. The body may be viewed at the family residence Tuesday, Tues-day, from 12:30 to 1:30 o'clock. Interment Inter-ment will be in the Murray City cemetery. |
