Show ORE SAMPLES SHOW 11 (ICES SILVER American Standard Coalition Coali-tion Mines Showing Continues Improving. Th5 rich strike of sliver ore recently found on the property of the American Standard Coalition Mines is improving as Uevclopment proceeds, according to several sev-eral mininc men who have just visited the property, located near Fort S-eheil-hourne. White Pine county. The vein has now been opened along the strike for some distance and ore is being sacked that will run hundreds of dollars to the ton in silver, says the White Pine News. During the past week George Pern and James Quirk of Salt Lake City, both of whom n re mining men of wide experience, ex-perience, visited the mine and were well pleased with what they saw. The prop-erty' prop-erty' was also examined by Brig. Snyder of Salt Lake, who has been connected with some of the best mines In Utah, and he was highly pleased, and expressed himself that he was almost sure another big mine was about to be opened to add to the long list of producers for Nevada. Ne-vada. Lorin ITall, who is a big stockholder and Is managing the work under progress, brought in numerous specimens of rich ore from tho strike on Friday. None of the ore assayed less than 200 ounces in silver, and some of the specimens ran as high as 1500 ounces, and from 3 to 10 per cent copper. The tunnel that is being be-ing driven to tap the vein is proceeding with all haste, under the direction of James Yates, the contractor. On Thursday,, according to Mr. Hall, the tunnel was entering a complete change of the formation, and spots of ore wero showing in the entire face. Already Al-ready two different ore shoots have been cut with the tunnel, but neither have been mined so as to interfere with the : work of driving the tunnel. A truck load of rails and a jnine car left East Ely Friday morning for the property, together with a ton of supplies. The property Is well equipped for present pres-ent needs. The American Standard mine is lo-! lo-! cated on the same contact, and only ; one mile north of the Seigel mine, and , joins the Kl Capitan. It looks as though it will outrival its neighbors, who have produced much wealth in silver ore. Those who are financing the mine and who own the control are the Scowcroft brothers broth-ers of Ogden, Utah. A great deal of activity Is. in evidence all along the Schell Creek range, according accord-ing to Mr. Hall. The ore bearing contact con-tact can be traced for a distance or twenty miles, and numerous mines are already in operation. The old Piermont mine is being worked and splendid reports are current as to the showing there. Mr. Snyder and Mr. Hall visited the Lucky Deposit mine at An rum. They have a big vein of sulphide sul-phide copper and silver ore in sight, while at Muncy Creek a big tonnage is already developed. What is needed to make the Spring valley district a real live section is a railroad. Some of the mines are near enoueh to the Nevada Northern so that ore can be hauled bv trucks at a good profit, but with a railroad an immense im-mense tonnage of ore could be sent to market. The district is one of the most promising in the' west, according to Mr. Hull. |
