Show SOUTH HECLA WILL INCREASE OUTPUT Flourishing conditions exist at the J South Hecla mine, according: to Thomas Gerety, superintendent, ivlio was in the city Monday. Surface -water and a ! shortage of labor no longer hampers operations, oper-ations, as was the case a few weeks ago. From 100 to 125 tons of ore are being shipped each day, with the expectation that this tonnage will be increased in a short time to a daily output of 200 to 2l0 tons. Work which is being carried on from the Quincy level of the South Ileela, is progressing under favorable conditions at the Albion, said Mr. Gerety. At present pres-ent there is a fine showing in the back of the raise which is being carried up from tho "E-3" level. Manager George H. Watson is at the mine directing operations. |
