Show TONOPAH OPERATORS AND MINERS CONFER At a meeting of striking mine and mill workers, held at the ball park, a Bpecial conference committee was selected to meet with the mine operators and attempt at-tempt to brin about a settlement of the labor controversy, which is now in its fourth week, says the Tonopah Times. The committee named was not authorized au-thorized to accept any proposition the operators might make. The members were instructed to meet with the employers last night and to bear any messatte the former might submit to the striking workers. It Is the plan of the workers to meet again at 2 o'ciock this afternoon, when the committee's com-mittee's report will be received and will be acted upon. The representatives of the strikers met with the operators in the Wingfield building build-ing last niijht, at the invitation of the lat-. ter. and a conference lasting several hours was held. What transpired at the meeting meet-ing was not made public. |
