Show HOME 10 SCHDOM LEAGUEADDRESSED League of Nations Subject of Short Talks at the Monthly Meeting. Some Topics to Be Discussed Dis-cussed at Parent-Teacher Sessions in April. Two brief addresses on the subject of the league of nations were given before be-fore the members of the Home ami School league at the monthly meeting held at the citv ami county building Tuesday afternoon. The speakers were Kephi L. Morris, who is chairman ot the state branch of the League to Enforce En-force Peace, and Luther K. Kggertseu, a representative of the University ot Utah club for the promotion ot the cause of the league. At this meeting it. was suggested to the presidents of the Parent-Teacher associations present that the question of the league of nations be presented at the April meetings of the various branches of the association. Speakers for these meetings may bo obtained at the headquarters of the League to Enforce En-force Peace at tho Hotel Utah. The Home and School league will hold its annual election of oi'neers at the next meeting, which will take place in May. To Lecture on Stories. "Hawthorne," the last of 3 6eries of lectures bv Miss Rose dones, will be given before the Parent-Teacher association as-sociation Tuesday afternoon at tho school building. Miss Jones's subject will be "Stories and Story-tellmg in the Home." Hamilton Wednesday evening the association will continue the health extension ex-tension class, Dr. IV. E. Calderwood lecturing on the subject of "Cancer.' Oquirrh The Parent-Teacher association associa-tion -will meet Tuesday evening at 8:15 at the eommunitv recreation house on Third South. Miss Blanche Cooper will speak on the question of correct diet in relation to physical activity. A social hour will follow the program and light refreshments will be served. Health Education Topic. Lowell Mondav affernoon the association asso-ciation will continue the health extension exten-sion class. Longfellow A special meeting of the association has been called for Monday evening, to which an invitation is ex-tended"to ex-tended"to anvone interested in health education. Dr. Raphael S. Olson will lecture and, following the meeting, will hold a half hour's clinic for children. The regular association meeting will be held oik Thursday evening at tJie school building. Lieutenant Colonel K. LcKoy Bourne will give a talk on his experiences experi-ences in France, and the following program pro-gram will be presented: Selection by string quintet; community singing; violin vio-lin solo, Mildred Houghton; solo, "Ring Out, Sweet Bells of Peace," Mrs. Jack Alford. Urging "Back to School" Plan. "Webster A meeting arranged for Monday has been postponed for one week, in order that the members of the association may be able to attend the mass meeting to be held at the Assembly Assem-bly hall at 8 o'clock Monday evening in the interests of tho "back to school" movement. As this campaign is being furthered by the Home and School league in this city, it is hoped that every member of the Parent-Teacher associations throughout the city will be present at this meeting, at which Miss Anne Davis, who is a representative of the United States department of labor, will be the principal speaker. |
