Show PLAN TRIBUTE TO WORK OF OK Governor Asked to Aid in Tribute to Empire's Part in the War. A tribute from the United States to Great Britain, something along the lines of the celebration of Bastile day a short time ago, was planned at a meeting in the New York Chamber of Commerce under the auspices of t,he Sulgrave institution, insti-tution, in association with the national committee of patriotic societies, the National Na-tional Security league and the American Defense societyr . Judge Alton B. Parker was chairman and John A. Stewart is chairman of the executive committee of the national British Brit-ish day committee which was then organized. or-ganized. They write to Governor Bamberger, Bam-berger, inviting him to become honorary vice chairman of the com mi: toe and requesting re-questing him to appoint a committee of fifty for the state of Utah to join with the national committee In arranging for the celebration on December 7. Governor Bamberger is also invited to Issue an address to the people of Utah, pointing out the "facts of the great service ser-vice which Great Britain and hjer associated asso-ciated democracies overseas have rendered ren-dered to America, not the least of which Is her rescue of France from devastation, devasta-tion, defear and degradation." |
