Show VACANCIES OPEN IN COAST GUARD The United States coast guard announces a competitive examination exami-nation for appointment of cadets to the Coast Guard academy to be held May 14, 1941. This examination exam-ination is open to young men between be-tween the ages of 17 and 22 years. The mental requirements are, in general, those necessary for admission to engineering colleges. col-leges. The Coast Guard academy is located at New London, Conn-The Conn-The course of instruction is basically basi-cally scientific and engineering in character. Annual cruises are made to foreign ports. Pay of a cadet while undergoing instruction instruc-tion is $780 per year, plus an allowance al-lowance for subsistence. After graduation a cadet is eligible for a commission in the Coast Guard ensign.
