Show Will MIKE SPECIALTY OF REnLHEfflffi Announcement by Local Company Is Creating Interest. The announcement that Bettilyon Home Builders company will make a specialty of real estate exchanges during the month of August, which they have designated "Trade Month," has aroused great interest in local real estate circles. The company Innovated the idea of a special trade period last fall, when they conducted a "Trade Week" movement. During that week their entire staff of salesmen made real estate exchanges the principal matter of business. They compiled com-piled a long list of real estate exchanges, put desirable combinations together, and assisted the parties concerned to come to an understanding. The trade idea, however, did not cease at the end of trade week. During the entire winter the company reports that it has done considerable business in real estate trades, and particularly during the last six months. In that period their real estate exchanges involved property valued at more than $200,000. A surprising variety of transactions were effected during this time. Not only were there exchanges of one kind of real estate for another, but men traded their business for real estate, real estate for automobiles, -stocks, bonds and other Se-CMritV Se-CMritV for rAill oct-nto 'jnrl mew tliot- rather unusual combinations. "It has been our experience," said V. A. Bettilyon, president of the company, "that a great many men go on year after year holding to property and other securities securi-ties because they do not find an opportunity oppor-tunity either to sell or exchange them advantageously. The difficulty, we believe, be-lieve, is overcome by having someone act as an intermediary between persons wishing to exchange their holdings. "During 'Trade Week' last fall we made ourselves a clearing house for exchanges involving real estate. Men came to us with their properly; told us what they wanted, and we put their proposition on a list. Then we made a comparison of the items which- we had listed, paired off those whom we thought might come to an understanding, and then during 'Trade "Week' we brought the two parties concerned together." "We are urging that listings of exchanges ex-changes be made at once, so as to give us plenty of time to pair them off and arrange possible transactions. From the present large number of listings which we have already received it is our opinion that Trade Month will be a tremendous success." |
