Show JAMES H. WIOYLE IS j HOME TO RECUPERATE Assistant Secretary of the U. S. Treasury Praises Utahns. DISCUSSES POLITICS Declares King, Mays and Welling Are Entitled to Much Credit. James H. Moyle, first assistant secretary secre-tary of the treasury of the United States; returned to his home In this city yesterday afternoon to spend a few weeks recuperating from the effects of an operation Which he was compelled to undergo in Washington recently. Mr. Moyle declared that his general health is good, and that as soon as he Is able to recover from the natural weakness weak-ness following an operation he feels sure he will be in better health than ever and w.ill be able to return to his duties in Washington with renewed vigor. After leaving the hospital. he returned to his office for one day and insisted upon continuing con-tinuing his work, but his physicians and the secretary of the treasury Insisted that he come home for a rest, and that, he explains, is why he Is here. He remarked that it gave him an opportunity op-portunity to be here to cast his vote at the coming election, a duty and a privilege which he had not neglected to perform since Utah had been a state. Mr. Moyle bespeaks success lor the Democratic Dem-ocratic party in the coming election, and decries the tendency to harping criticism of the .Republicans, especially that of Mr. Roosevelt, as the recognised leader of the party. He declares that the way in which Utah can show her support of the president and the administration in their wln-the-war policy is by returning her present congressmen to congress. Surprised at Utah. He ex pressed surprise to find that Utah Republicans were criticising the congressmen of the state for going to the baltlefront to gain information first hand about Arflerlcan soldiers, their needs and how they are being cared lor. He declares de-clares that Republican congressmen who went overseas at the same time are being be-ing praised by the Republicans of their states for showing this interest in t he American soldiers and this desire for tlrst-hand Infonnatlon to enable them to shape their work In the house. That Utah Republicans should raise the voice of criticism against Congressmen Maya and Welling for doing this is surprising to him. and is an evidence, he says, that they haven't anything else to say about them. "Utah is we'l represented ifl congress," said t he assistant t reaSureV "The people peo-ple are familiar with the work. and standing stand-ing of Senator Smoot. Senator King is making a brilliant record, and my only fear If that he Is overworking himself, to the jeopardy of bis health. He had an attaCJE of influenza and Insisted upon returning re-turning to work too soon, which jeopardized jeopard-ized his health. He expected to leave Washington Saturday or Sunday for home and to stop off in Colorado and Wyoming on the way. Entitled to Credit. "The congressmen from Utah stand in the front ranks of members of the house. 1 believe they are entitled to special credit for 1 he work they have done and the enterprise JCtiey showed in going to the battlefront to learn first hand the needs of the American soldiers, how they are being cared for and what should be done here to support them properly i:i the conduct of the war. "They left Washington when congress was mostly in recess and when there was nothing of Importance being done in the lower bonne. Republican congressmen who did the same thing are being praised by the Republicans of their states for doing It, It makes me think our Republican Repub-lican friends here must be short of something some-thing to say when they criticise such devotion de-votion to duty and loyal service to the country."
