Show SPENCER TO ATTEND RAILROAD MEETING On Way to Gathering of Representatives in Chicago to Discuss Combining of Ticket Offices. D. S. Spencer, general passenger agent of the Oregon Snort ,Line railroad and chairman of the local committee on consolidation con-solidation of city ticket offices of the local railroads, left yesterday for Chicago Chi-cago to attend a meeting Monday of the general committee on ticket oft'ice consolidation con-solidation for the western region. The matter of consolidation of ticket offices in various cities of the west has been under consideration for some time past, and various recommendations have been made to the general committee by the local committees in the different cities. The meeting of the general committee com-mittee in Chicago Monday is for the purpose of considering these recommendations, recommen-dations, and it is expected that definite action will be taken at that time in relation to the various cities affected. It is understood, though the local committee com-mittee has not given out ny statement on the matter, that the plan for Salt Lake contemplates the consolidation of all local railroad offices in the present offices of the Short Line and Union Pacific in tho Hotel Utah building. This is one of the matters that will be taken up with the general committee in Chicago Chi-cago Monday, it was learned yesterdav. The offices that will be affected by the consolidation here are those of the Denver & Rio Grande. Western Pacific, Salt Lake Route, Short Line and Union Pacific. |
