The opening of the campaign for the fourth Liberty loan in New York tomorrow night will be pro- , claimed by powerful police air raid sirens, 1 the ringing of church bells and thousands of other sound-producers, about half an hour before President Wilson speaks at the Metropolitan house. It will be the first test of the elec-tricallv elec-tricallv operated air raid whistles, which, it is believed, can be heard for fifteen miles. Emergency whistles at 150 police stations also will be blown continuously for five minutes. Simultaneously with the opening of the meeting at the opera house, police reserves re-serves and ten thousand volunteers will begin the distribution of 1.500,000 copies of "A Surprise Faper" throughout the city. The formal opening of the drive to sell at least Sl.SOO.000.OuO worth of bonds in the New York federal reserve district will be on Saturday morning at 9 o'clock. Everv man. woman and child is requested re-quested to rise at that hour and stand facing the east, looking toward France and Pershing. |
