Show UNDER SURVEILLANCE OF POLICE AT OGDEN Conrad Breustle, German, With First Papers, Is Accused of Unpatriotic Un-patriotic Actions. , Special to The Tribune. , OGDEX, Jan. 12. Conrad Bruestle, a German, who has taken out his first papers in America, is under police surveillance, sur-veillance, pending an investigation of alleged unpatriotic utterances made in the Southern Paeific shops and which, it is said, nearly resulted in his being tarred and feathered. Breustle is said to have hung his cap on a pictuTe of President Wilson.! He was told to take it off by a fellow workman and did so, but later placed (it there again. He was told to remove this,') and did so with a piece of dirty cotton waste, which disfigured the picture. Fearing violence might result from the growing feeling, a workman phoned for an officer and Sergeant Henry Blackburn Black-burn went to the shops and arrested Breustle. He was released from jail late today. Breustle resides at 1940 Lincoln avenue. ave-nue. He is living with his fourth wife. He has a son in the German army and is said to have exhibited a picture of the young man with great pride. His wife has a son in the American armv, stationed at Camp Russell, Cheyenne, Wyo. Breustle has lived in Ogden for eight years. |
