Show SOLDIERS ORDERED NOT TO FREQUENT ' PUBLIC GATHERINGS General orders prohibiting all soldiers of the post and their families outside the 'pout from attending moving pictures, theaters and other places of public g-ath-erlnfrs, on account of the rapid spread of Influenza In Salt Lake and vicinity, were Issued by the authorities at Fort Douslaa yesterdav afternoon, effective at once. Printed orders on the suhject were prepared at headquarters and were issued is-sued to the various organizations at the post by the organization commanders. At retreat last nlRht the orders were read to all the soldiers. The authorities at the local po.t have taken the situation In hand promptly and rlROrouslv and everything; possible will be done to check the spread of the disease dis-ease and to give protection to the soldiers sol-diers who have not been exposed to the Infection as yet. Not a single case of the disease has developed amons the troops stationed at the post and the aim and efforts of the medical officers are to prevent It doing so if possible. In striking contrast to the situation at the post Is that at the University Uni-versity of Utah, where amonff the members mem-bers of the student army training corps the epidemic has readied such proportions that yesterday it was necessary to admit about thirty cases to a specially prepared isolation hospital at the post. One of the barrack buildings, has been converted Into an influenza hospital; in fact, it was prepared In anticipation of demand, de-mand, and the university victims of the malady will be handled in this ward, where the disease may be proporly treated treat-ed arid the patients may be kept Isolated from all others. Colonel E. S.
