Show ELLA FLAGG YOUNG TO JUDWIA DRIVE Noted Chicago Educator Will Address Meeting Here on October 17. The City Federation of Women's Clubs held its regular meeting yesterday afternoon after-noon at the Salt Lake Civic center, Jn Regent street. Announcement was made that Ella Flagg Young, former superintendent of the Chicago public schools, will speak In Salt Lake in the interests of the fourth Liberty loan on October 17, under the auspices of the federation. The Ladies' literary club is arranging for a reception for Mrs. Toung upon her arrival. Mrs. F. W. Meekin, chairman of a committee com-mittee consisting of Mrs. E. G. Gowans, Mrs. Florence Home and Mrs. ' R. W. Young, announced that the committee had completed arrangements for the use of the First Congregational . church, where the state-owned film, "Fit , to Fight," will be shown in the near future to an audience of women only. This film has previously been shown to male audiences au-diences at a local picture house. The committee on home hospitality reported re-ported on its work in the Interest of the soldiers. The report set forth that the women are enjoying their work In this connection quite as much as the soldiers who are the recipients of the hospitality. A committee consisting of Mrs. J. A. Widtsoe. Mrs. J. F. Cowan, Mrs. A. H. Parsons. ' Mrs. Elizabeth Coray and Miss Louise Corder, was appointed to Investigate Investi-gate the most ' feasible way of carrying on a system of America nizat ion work among the foreign women of the city. The women's auxiliary of the local union of machinists made formal application applica-tion for membership in the federation, it is said. A number of t-'alt Lake women will go to Logan today to attend the annual , meeting of the T'tali Federation of Women's Wo-men's Clubs, which will convene there this afternoon for a three days' session. The official train carrying the state oUicers from Rait Lake and other parts op the state will leave thin city over the Oregon Short Line at 7 :1T o'clock this morning. A number of Salt Lakers will also ga on the interurban line. The leading theme of tho program will be "Americn nidation," and an address on that topic will be delivered by Or. E. C. Gowans of this city this evening. Another An-other feature of today's session will he the annual address of the prr-sldent of the federation. Mrs. Edward Rlchsel of Ogden. to be given this afternoon.
