Show Hill BATTLE WITH WIS Bolshevik Troops No Match for the Soldiers of the Little Kingdom. LONDON. Feb. 4. Official telegrams dispatched from Jassy Saturday say that the greater part of the Rumanian army now is engaged in fighting Russian troops, who are overrunning Moldavia and Bessarabia, Bes-sarabia, while Bolshevik troops are concentrating con-centrating in Bukowina. Lfter twentv-four hours fighting the Rumanians disarmed the Ninth Russian division, which attacked Galatz. taking more than fifty cuns. and surrounded and darmed the Eighth Russian division, which attacked the center of the Moldavian Mol-davian front. This division was sent un- der convoy to Russia. . In response to an appeal trom the Bessarabian republic, it is officially declared, de-clared, -Rumania sent troops there to prevent pre-vent the devastation of the country by bands of Russians and also occupied Kishinev, the Ungheni-Jassy railway and depots from which Rumania draws supplies. Fighting is in progress between the Rumanians and the Bolsheviki over all Bessarabia as far as the Dniester river. |
