Increased trade with Latin-American countries and decrease In exports to northern European neutrals were the features of American 1917 foreign commerce as set forth in figures issued today by the bureau of foreign and domestic commerce. Imports from South America increased from $27,000,000 to $59S,CK)0,000 and exports ex-ports to South America increased from $225,000,000 to $312,000,000. South America Amer-ica ranked third in sales to the "United States following North American countries coun-tries and Asia and taking precedence over Europe, Oceania and Africa in the order named. Europe continued to be the best customer of this country, buying goods worth 54,034.362,0:9. followed " bv North America. Asia, South America, " Oceania and Africa.
