Show NEAR-SENSATION IS RED CROSS STUNT Staging a stunt which proved valuable in adding to the Utah contribution for the Red Cross fund, a near-sensation was created at Main and Second South streets yesterday at .noon. Private A. C. Mitchell of A battery, First Utah artillery, artil-lery, was "struck and knocked down" by an automobile. Traffic Officers K. Lesser and A. E. Lund responded promptly and at the same time two ambulances bore down on the scene. From the ambulances sprang Mrs. R. E. L. Collier, Mrs. Aquila Xebeker, Mrs. F. H. Groshell. Mrs. O. E, Grdshell, Mrs. George M. Brown. Miss Agnes Pitt. Miss Irene Langton, Mrs. Luclle Macintosh and Mrs. L. B. George of Salt Lake and Mrs. A. G. Clampitt ot Chicago. The ladies, la-dies, garbed in the costume of Red Cross nurses, instead of administering to the "wounded." at once circulated among the crowd whieh--had gathered and garnered many dimes, quarters and halves for the Red Cross fund. |
